I'm Jeff Vincent and I like to do hoodrat things with my friends.

The Scary Basement is my personal spot for the music, art, photography, film, friends, inspirations, business ideas, inventions & innovations that flow through and around my head.

My favorite things in life are laughter, big smiles, learning new things, challenging the norms, salmon pants, doing what makes me happy, new perspectives, lessons for life, skiing, new adventures, and loved ones.
Enjoy.

Apple TV. Steve Job’s hobby that has really been neglected (maybe so their top minds can concentrate on something bigger?) but I think it still has a lot of promise. I don’t see Apple moving into TV sets anytime soon, so the Apple TV might be the closest to the TV set Apple gets for the time being.

From a discussion I had with Jon yesterday, I have to ask the question: why doesn’t the Apple TV play HD games? The iPhone and iPod Touch has been HUGE in the new casual, on-the-go gamer market. Why not have the Apple TV go after some of the party/social gamer the Wii has achieved. You could use an iPhone or iPod Touch to control the game (I know, that limits the market, but really Apple TV is a currently limited market), and even sync with the games you already have on your iPhone, so the possibility opens up to have hybrid mobile and home games!

Seems like a real game changer for game companies like Nintendo, that really enjoy that casual and social gamer.
